Do you like open shelves in the bathroom?
by closet shelving on Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 | 3 Comments
I am getting ready to remodel my bathroom in the next couple weeks and am thinking of taking about the cabinets and putting up open shelves. I see all over the Internet that it's the new "in" thing, but I'm concerned about dust and moisture getting into my towels and stuff.
Do you have open shelving in the bathroom? Do you like it? What are some ideas for using it that might look nice and be clean?

Open shelving is usually more for display. You constantly have to keep it clean and tidy. I personally don’t like it because I have too much stuff in my cabinets and could never keep it perfect. Plus there are lots of things that just would not be pretty to display in the first place.
well, open shelving wud be a good idea. if u really wanna go in for it then try glass shelves that are thick enough 2 sustain weight. glass shelves wud also look attractive as compared 2 wooden…….plus the wooden shelves would catch moisture n may decay 2……the glass shelves wud give a classy effect too!
i mean if u want a cabinet then u could go for 1 with a wooden frame , with glass door n glass shelves…..so the things in it could be visible n this would be a better option too.
well. i had open -wooden shelves, n that did gather a lot of dust(i didnt use it for the towels though) . you can have the if u have a servant or a maid 2 help u out with u.
or u could try out cabinets with bright colors….that would be something new!!!
neway all the best……………hope i helped!!!!
I think open shelves can be great. But you need to keep things neat and tidy. Roll the towels for a finished look, add some candles and for anything loose or small, maybe a wicker basket. If you are having doubts, you could do a closet with shelves and have a french door. That’s what I did and I frosted the glass. So it still feels open but you cannot see whats behind it
