I am so mad!?!?!?!?!?!?
Ugh! I have got to vent, am I being unfair in being upset about this? This person hasn't even been trained yet, I've only met her once for about three minutes and I'm totally pissed. I took five days of vacation time last week and when I got back today I see a note from our new hire that reads:
(My Name, SPELLED WRONG)- Complete the following tasks:
1. Clean bathrooms
2. Replace _______ in all ________.
3. One section at a time, remove all _______ and clean shelving.
4. Seal and polish floor behind the counter.
5. Clearn and organize all of the shelving in the back.
The windows were cleaned this week inside and out so they should be fine.
And that's it, the note in its entirety. Who does she think she is? She also changed EVERYTHING in the store.....to NOT match planorgam. Am I being stupid or do I have a right to be f*****g pissed?!?!!?

Call your boss and confirm that you don’t report to her, then when you have confirmed that, you go talk to her in a friendly fashion. You’ll say something to the effect of, "thanks for making the list of things that need to be done. We can divide these up – how about I take 4 and 5 and you take 1 and 2 and we’ll both do number 3 when that’s done?"
So, I am assuming she is NOT in management?!
I can see why you are aggravated with this situation.
If she is not management, talk to the manager, or else let it go & if it persists in happening, you could talk to boss then.
The note seemed very impersonal & unfriendly…
Hope you have a good day, for the rest of your day anyhow…
The note could have had a please & thank you.
If she is a manager then it is something that you will need to deal with.
Happy cleaning
yeah, i would be pissed too. beyotch!!!
Yes girl, you have every right. Scream and shout as much as you want to. Who does she think she is??? Im angry now.
Make her a cup of tea and spit in it, hee hee hee
Is she ur senior? if not then u hv the full right to question her.U never know she may hv done it unintentionally. Go to her and tell her assertively dat this was highly unprofessional of her and u will not tolerate any such thing again. Clear it out the faster the better
It is so hard to infer someone’s intentions from a note like this. Maybe she is simply trying to be efficient and wants to make sure you have plenty of time so she left you a note.
Find a quiet time with no one else around to sit down and let her know that you don’t communicate well through notes and that you do not believe she should be leaving you instructions. Tell her you are happy to help but your responsibilities are A., B. and C. and her responsiblities are D, E and F. Any other assignments should come through management. Unless she is management. If that is the case, then really she did nothing wrong other than misspell your name.
I don’t know stuff like this has happened to me too.
.
I think my problem at work was that I did take orders from peers or even people in lower position than me. Maybe thats why the guy who ordered me to do this stuff got promoted and not me
She hasn’t been trained and she didn’t know you, she should never have left a note on your desk. And you have a right to be irked. Did someone higher up give her the authority? If so find out who and talked to them about how you feel about this.
If not and if she is not your supervisor or a member of your management staff; and you are not responsible for those things: cross your name off of the top of the list and write her name in its place, add: do you have the training and the authority needed to know what priorities are here and put it on her desk. In your own kind words! Try not to sound hostile.
If she is giving you orders she is probabaly your boss…it comes withthe territory, she has to delegate. Put a on a smile do your tasks and best as you can and eat it up..they are paying you!
If she isn’t your superior on the job then take it to whom ever is and ask if she has the right to delegate work to you, don’t argue with an associate, that makes her look good and you look petty.
