Is there such as thing as covering your counter-tops like you would paper a shelf…?

So I hate the counter-tops in my apartment (they are white and show everything!) but I don't have the money to get new ones... Is there such a thing to cover them? (I mean like you cover a shelf in your bathroom with that adhesive shelving paper)

contact paper is not very durable and will wear out and tear quickly. there is laminate paint, I’d recommend a strong enamel-also depends on what your landlord will allow
you can always do anything with paint and it is a inexpensive way to add your own personality to your space…try painting it with Colors you like or that matches with the other colours in the apartment…if you want a smooth finish, try sanding it down with some sanding paper, just go to your local home depot or Lawes and ask.
